If only for the awesome Hinagiku moments and the great development between Hayate x Hinagiku. Still, Hayate’s as dense as a rock. Hinagiku should definitely be my Hayate’s waifu. Enough with Nagi; I’ve had enough of lolis after Shana.
H-I-N-A! Hinagiku! Hai hai! Just discovered the ED and Cruel Angel Thesis (Hina ver.) and loving them both. All the more inspiration to catch up on the anime and manga.

I finished Halo 3 on the weekend. My rage against The Flood knows no bounds. I hate Flood levels. If it’s outside in Forerunner territory then fine. But on the damn High Charity where there is Flood flesh EVERYWHERE. Ugh. I can only play those levels with the sound off. Gives me the creeps. Anyway I finished the game by myself on normal. It was a decent end to the series and a classic game for sure.
I started Mass Effect and it holds much more promise then the Halo series. I love the look and feel of the game, makes me miss RPGs like you wouldn’t believe. I also have Viva Pinata, Forza Motorsport 2 and Lego Indiana Jones. The only two I bought specifically were Mass Effect and Halo 3. I couldn’t get hold of any of the games Aroduc suggested but i’ll keep my eye open for them.
I was actually hoping to get Colin McRae: DiRT. That game was awesome. Anywho back to being sick and eating battered mussels.
P.S I just cleaned the bathroom. Now it’s nice and shiney.

Today I received a mail from a close friend, even if I feel sorry for him, I couldn’t stop laughing after i saw what was inside of the stick…
I wanted to share this funny happen with you guys^^
Quote from mail:
A week ago I bought this 32GB USB-Stick from some japanese guy on Ebay for $299
Paid imeediately by bank-transfer, good deal!
Today i received it, and found out it’s not working.
When I shake it, I could hear something rattling inside.
So I decided to open it up, just to find out it was EMPTY!!!
Have I been tricked by this Jap, and if so, how to get back @ him?

So in preparation for watching the final episode of the TV series I thought I’d write a quick entry on my thoughts of the show so far. Notice I said entry, not post or article. I have come to realise that I am most certainly not a writer. I could probably learn, but you know how it is we never have enough time to do what we want. Also note that I do not think anime is the A-Z in life. I don’t view it as srsbsns as I once did. It’s just TV. But whatever, moving on to what I think about Eden Of The East so far.
Overall Impression:
It has been a fun ride. The concept was really neat and I have liked all the characters. I particularly enjoyed Cupboard-kun’s moment of fame. The story has paced fairly well for it’s depth and with the exception of the inexplicable Johnny Skeletons I have found the show easy to digest (edit: I now get why they were there. It took a moment for it to surface in my brain). I don’t know quite how much I might be missing in cultural references in this show but I feel I’ve finally been able to get to grips with it’s story enough to enjoy it. (sidepoint: SekaiCamera anyone?)

Cupboard-kun makes his presence known.
Notes:
I can see two main threads running throughout the show:
- The changes occuring for Saki as she enters into the adult world and how she is affected by them.
- The whole Selecao thing and the need for Japan to be invigorated.
I originally thought there would be a lot more action in this show considering the vast amounts of weaponry featured in Akira’s Washington apartment. Eden Of The East turned a different corner however and I was focussed on finding out what this whole Selecao thing was about. Before I knew it I had kind of missed the whole Saki growing up idea and how that related to the goals of the Selecao.
The production of the show I thought was pulled off quite nicely. The animation was done quite well, the environments were also done well and the voices seemed to match up ok. The addition of English speakers and an English OP was a nice touch that I thought went with the show quite well.

How to look deliciously evil, "it's all about the lighting".
Highlights:
- The use of the word Johnny.
- Raging naked NEETs jumping out of shipping containers.
- REAL ENGLISH BY REAL ENGLISH SPEAKERS!
Downlights:
Actually nothing in the show has been a downer for me. However my own misinterpretation of the story caused by the “translation effect”* did cause me some issues. It’s never good to go through five or six episodes only picking up on one part of what is being told. You end up completely confused when new plot events occur.
Conclusion:
I’m looking forward to watching the final episode and I’m sure the two movies to follow will find their way to my screen. I feel Eden Of The East has given me a decent experience this season and I want a Selecao phone badly.

Cuteness comes in 22 year old packages.
* The loss of cultural background and nuances of language that help describe the situation and lead the story in an effective manner.
